Birthday Wishes

Celebrate the day!
Today you are fifty five.
I have loved the years.

* Sorry the quality is so poor. I just wanted to record us singing to him before I missed the moment.

After lots of talking, Dad and I decided to throw him a birthday party. I wanted to celebrate all the wonderful things he has done for all of my friends and I. This was for opening his home to all of us crazy kids, giving us a safe place to stay, and the many amazing meals we've shared together (because out of all the things he knows how to do, it's cook!) Those are just a few of many deeds.

I was nervous as to how many people would show up. It seems that almost everyone did. Our guest for the evening included (in no particular order): Jason, Taja, Jeff, Niki, Josh, Darren, Brittany, Erin, Kaynon, Marcos, Ana, Pat, Kasey, Mike, Taylor and myself (if I forgot anyone I'm terribly sorry!)

Dad had a blast! Food, drinks, music and company made for a perfect night. Don't forget the birthday boy's chocolate cupcakes topped with chocolate mousse. Niki and Erin helped finish them to take off some of the pressure, thanks ladies.

October 22nd, 2011

Editor's Note:
Dear Christy,
Yes I know it is November and I'm a little late.

Today's Picknic with Christy!
Written on 10/22/11

"We started off slow.
Once we got going - stop not!
It was beautiful."

Last post I was getting ready for an amazing upcoming day. Christy was dropped off in the morning. We were waiting on a ride to the park from my dad, but for some reason or another he wasn't answering his phone. He was hella' late. However we did manage to get a good start at our local Foodlion. For lunch we were going to have turkey and salami sandwiches.

Our Shopping Cart

Note: Not all that water is for us. :) That would be ridiculous.

Once we got to the park we walked around for a few, while I tried to remember where a specific tree was. After unloading our things we decided to take a few pictures and put on some tunes.

Christy at the Table

Picnic Table

We were so hungry, I remember making at least two sandwiches for myself. It was so nice to be out together, eating and talking. Even though we stuffed ourselves at the table, our excitement for s'mores still remained :) !

While looking for brush to start a fire, Christy and I found lovely little flowers.

Wild Flowers

Our fire was on the struggle, but we gave it everything we had. It finally started to catch after using a sheet of paper from my sketchbook.  S'mores were on the way! I think we ate too many though, because the sweetness made us feel a little sick.

Near where we had placed our things, a child's birthday party was occurring. A few people offered us hotdogs , but we kindly turned them down. An older man brought us each a piece of birthday cake and said, "You can't be at a birthday party and not have cake." It was so delicious.

A Taste of Luck
Cinder and Smoke

I couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect, and the food was delicious. It was also neat to experience a random act of kindness with a close friend.

Isn't she pretty ;) !

Ready for the park!

I'm almost ready.
Tomorrow will be true bliss!
The fun will not stop.

My Mesh Bag

Tomorrow (or today however you look at it) Christy and I will be going to Seashore State Park for a fire and a picnic. If time permits we shall walk across the street to visit the bay, hoping it is not too chilly or breezy. I'm very excited because it's not often I get to have my own adventures with a friend. Bloom (the grocery store) will be our first stop to get fresh food, juice, lighter fluid and matches. I need to make a list of these items so my mind doesn't wander. Dad will be lending me a camera so it will be easier to take digital photographs. I simply cannot wait!

So far in my bag I have the following items gathered:
- Old Sheet
- Sketchbook
- Drawing utensils
- Word Find
- Playing Cards
- First Aide

Yesterday

Yesterday I decided to go through my closet. All of the mess and disorganization was really getting old. I took action and I think I did well for myself.

Bunches of Hangers

I found a ton of bags in a bag, which I had forgotten I'd stowed away; As well as a garbage bag's worth of stuffed animals. Don't worry I didnt throw them away. n__n <3 Too Many Bags?

There ended up being one cardboard box full of clothes for donation. The rest either belongs to other friends, needs to be repaired or undecided. My government book and some Adult Learning Center worksheets turned up to boot! I feel like I made good progress considering I had to revamp the inside of the closet simultaneously.

Gotta Get Organized

Somewhere in between working and completion, cheesy potatoes with chicken & broccoli occurred along with a salad and biscuit. They were delicious. Cooked 'em myself. ^__^
